2019 will forever be a year I remember for the rest of my life, it was a milestone year in the true sense of the word. I asked the love of my life to marry me in one of the most fitting ways, we bought a condo together earlier in the year, climbed some of the most incredible mountains, and oh yeah, skied some 70+ days last year. There’s no way I could ever summarize this year into a post (or even twelve), but it’d be foolish not to look back on the best memories and highlights from this year.

This is by far my favorite ski photo I’ve ever shot. Dropping into Desolation Lake, Mike showing how deep it really is! Yant’s Flat (Candy Cliffs), located outside of St. George might be one of the most underrated beautiful places on this planet. First big ride of 2019, with Gregor, Koa, and Adam down in Moab. Spectacular views, and even wilder terrain. The approach to ski a chute off Devil’s Castle at Alta on July 1st 2019. Not bad for summer skiing. Climbing up the Upper Saddle on the Grand Teton. A 20hr day that I’ll never forget. Altitude, ice, exhaustion, and epicness all will define this day as one of the best in 2019. Friends around the campfire on a starry Moab night over the Memorial Day Weekend. The lightning storm that swept over camp on the night before we got engaged. Sending it up Mt. Olympus on a random Saturday in the Summer. Labor Day Weekend backpacking trip to the Uintas. When Luke came to visit, we knew we had to check of Mt. TImpanogos. A drone shot over Lake Tahoe on a ski trip in early April. The best moment of my life, all captured in one frame!

Easily one of the most fun videos I made all year. A compilation of shots I had since the day we got Gregor to all the trips we started taking him on. It wasn’t long before he came into his own as a true adventure dog! This video went on to win an “Outside TV Video of the Week Contest.”

Though this video wasn’t as popular as I hoped, it was still a great piece of work. Capturing and retelling a road trip story from Park City to Banff, CAN was no easy task; but totally worth it in the end!

I consider myself to be one of the luckiest people on the planet, getting to marry my best friend. Even more-so, that I was able to catch it all on video and surprise her in the best way possible. We’ve been setting up my camera on a tripod to take trip photos since we’ve been together. So for the longest time, I’ve had this idea in the back of my head that this was going to be how I would propose. It couldn’t have ended up any better!

Getting to share the desert, let alone Utah, with friends from home is the most rewarding feeling you can get. That’s why it was a no-brainer when Vince came out to visit us that we were going to take him down to Moab to go camp in our favorite place on Earth! It was an experience I’m sure he’ll never forget.
