Whether you’re on a road trip to see the Big 5 National Parks in southern Utah, or you only have one day to see the park; Bryce Canyon can be done in a day. And as much as I advocate for spending more time in a place to really appreciate it, I understand that we may not have that luxury. Like most of you, I watch a lot of YouTube videos and endlessly scroll through Instagram. Watching the daily vlogs Casey Neistat, Peter McKinnon, Ryan VanDuzer, SingleTrackSampler, and BKXC to name just a few. Their stories and content are awesome. Every day, or nearly every other day, posting new videos. Some about nothing, others pretty epic.
But one thing they have in common, is that they are always posting. So does posting this much hold you accountable? Accountable to a life adventure?

Utah is home to 5 of the most stunning National Parks. Zion, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon, and Arches National Parks. Each is different than the last, yet, completely incredible and hard to compare. Spent the last weekend of summer at a high alpine lake in deserts of Nevada with Court & Gregor. It’s safe to say, Gregor loved the trip. Hiking and swimming are his two favorite things to do! We got to the campsite at night, so waking up, surrounded by these peaks were incredible. We spent the weekend hiking and swimming around Angel Lake and Smith Lake. Gregor was so tired after 3 straight days of these adventures!

At some point over the summer I found out Outside TV was creating their own content platform, similar to YouTube, called Outside TV Campfire. You upload your videos from your adventures to share with others who have epic adventures. Each month there’s a contest for the best videos. They pick a video each week to be the video of the week for a prize, and then one video gets picked each month to be the video of the month for a grand prize! And guess what? I’m Starting the vlog back up again, but this time, with a purpose! Rather than just filming the everyday adventures in the mountains or the nonsense with the pup, I wanted to make short videos about an idea that I have. Each episode will feature a new idea or problem that I’ve been thinking about or wrestling in my mind. This one is about how living in a vacation/ski town has changed my life. Check it out!

What if I told you, that I camped, outside, for an entire month this year. And I did so without quitting my job. Crazy, right?! Admittedly, the title of the article is a little click-bait-ish, but it’s true. The mountains of Utah are incredible. From the red cliffs of Moab, to the snow capped peaks in the Cottonwoods, they all offer some thing uniquely different to everyone. But when I came out to Salt Lake to visit my friend Luke last November, we took a spontaneous trip to somewhere neither of us had been before. That trip lead us down desert roads to probably one of the smallest mountain ranges in Utah. I’m talking about Sand Mountain, located in the Little Sahara Recreation Area.
