South Lake Tahoe Trip

The first time you see the lake, as you crest the mountain pass from Reno, is a sight you’ll never forget. Driving through the dense evergreen forest, the deep blue of the lake contrasts with the green surrounding the rim. And to add to its beauty, the white peaked mountains on the western edge of the  lake climb high into the sky. And that’s only the beginning of the trip. A trip we just got back from this past weekend. We met up with some friends from back east who rented a house to ski for the week. Since it …

Explore Yant Flat (Candy Cliffs Utah)

Southern Utah is known for its incredible sandstone rock formations. Take Zion and Arches for example, known around the world for their iconic viewpoints and hikes. But with that notoriety comes an endless stream of crowds and lines; not to mention park fees and permits. What if I told you there was another place, equally as stunning, that you could have all to yourself. And plus, you’re allowed to bring your dog with you! Well guess what, that place not only exists, but we just spent the weekend there and it was jaw dropping. The place I’m referring to is …

Guide: 1 Day in Bryce Canyon National Park

Whether you’re on a road trip to see the Big 5 National Parks in southern Utah, or you only have one day to see the park; Bryce Canyon can be done in a day. And as much as I advocate for spending more time in a place to really appreciate it, I understand that we may not have that luxury. So if given the opportunity, go spend the day here and you’ll witness one of the most beautiful places on earth, all within a short walk from your car. The entrance to the park is about 4hrs from both, Salt …

Angel Lake Adventures with Gregor the Adventure Dog

Spent the last weekend of summer at a high alpine lake in deserts of Nevada with Court & Gregor. It’s safe to say, Gregor loved the trip. Hiking and swimming are his two favorite things to do! We got to the campsite at night, so waking up, surrounded by these peaks were incredible. We spent the weekend hiking and swimming around Angel Lake and Smith Lake. Gregor was so tired after 3 straight days of these adventures!

Sand Mountain | Little Sahara Adventures

The mountains of Utah are incredible. From the red cliffs of Moab, to the snow capped peaks in the Cottonwoods, they all offer some thing uniquely different to everyone. But when I came out to Salt Lake to visit my friend Luke last November, we took a spontaneous trip to somewhere neither of us had been before. That trip lead us down desert roads to probably one of the smallest mountain ranges in Utah. I’m talking about Sand Mountain, located in the Little Sahara Recreation Area. Getting here wasn’t difficult, but it was different. Hopping off the highways and onto …

Bryce Canyon National Park Adventures [Video]

Bryce Canyon National Park is by far the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen, topping all of the other 4 national parks in Utah. So when my buddy was in town, it was a no brainer to take him there to get his adventure in. Needless to say, he was living life elevated while in Utah.

How a Dog Will Change Your Adventures… FOREVER

Fridays used to be spent deciding the weekend’s adventure, on the fly, and the car was packed accordingly. Headed to the desert, into the mountains, or even just by river somewhere; it never really mattered where we went because we could go anywhere. But that all changed this summer when my girlfriend and I got our little, endless ball of energy, Gregor. We’d always wanted a dog together, and finally everything aligned and we found the perfect little doggo. But I think we may have looked before we leaped just a bit, because or adventures will be forever changed now …

Ode to Car Camping

As much as I hate to admit, we go car camping far more than we do any other type of camping. Car camping, for those unfamiliar with the terminology, is when you load up all you stuff, drive to a campsite or public land, and set up your camp very close to where you parked your car. Most people just call this camping, but in my “younger days” I scoffed at the idea. I thought the only way to camp was if you drove to the trailhead, strapped everything to your backpack, hiked many miles into the woods, and then …
