The Therm-a-Rest NeoAir XLite is by far the most important item I now take on any backpacking/camping trip. Arguably more important than my camera, backpack, or even water. If you’re anything like me, the worst part of camping is waking up sore in the morning, and that soreness has nothing to do with the previous days’ activities. I’m a side sleeper, so I’d wake up with a sore neck, shoulders, and back whenever I’d sleep on a foam pad, hybrid inflatable/foam pad, or other inflatables. Without exaggeration, I get an equally good sleep on this NeoAir XLite inflatable sleeping pad …

Norway | Seeking Wanderlust [Video]
Discovering Norway for ourselves on a road trip through the mountains. Every place we passed through was more beautiful than the last. Mountains and Fjords that captured the imagination whether from the roadside or on top of a summit. This place was truly made for those looking to fill their sense of wonder. The trip took us through Alesund, Andalsnes, Loen, Flam, and Bergen. We both have been to Iceland, and this place is far better. Hiking through Åndalsnes, Norway
The moment we emerged from the last tunnel, and our eyes adjusted to the light, I knew we had picked a great town to stay in. A huge mountain range that pierced into the clouds, dropped off into the fjord where the town of Åndalsnes stood. For two days, my girlfriend Courtney and I stayed in a cabin at a campground with the intent of seeing and doing as much as possible while in Åndalsnes. All around us towered an incredible, vast landscape of snow capped mountains, views of a serpentine river, and the endless expanse of the fjord. It was only …

Utah Bound | Why We Moved to SLC
“Let’s just drop everything and move out West.” At one one point, all of us have had the dream to pack up everything we own in a UHaul and just drive westward into the sunset. Just drive to the place we’ve been brainwashed to believe is better than the east coast. Wether it be the laid-back lifestyle in California or the endless adventures you see on your friends’ Instagram out in Colorado. The how or why doesn’t really matter, just that is possible for anyone to go West. And at some point in the end of 2016, my girlfriend Court …
Video Shooting, Editing, & Producing Tips
Having been shooting, editing, and producing videos for the past 5+ years, and I’ve definitely run into my fair share of problems. These issues range from video quality, audio recording and playback, and general story continuity for the final cut of the video. I figured I’d start to write down some of the tips and things I’ve learned along the way to give others a help in avoiding these issues/mistakes/bad practices. Note, I edit on Final Cut Pro 10 (FCPX), but all these tips can be extrapolated for use in Adobe, iMovie, cellphone apps, GoPro editor, etc. Video Video Transitions …
The Presidential Traverse
Iconic, euphoric, dangerous, beautiful, and gruesome are all adjectives that can be used to describe one famous hike in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, the Presidential Traverse. To complete this traverse, hikers climb all of the mountains in the Presidential Range of the White Mountains in one continuous hike that’s nearly 23 miles long with close to 9,000 feet of elevation gain. Our goal was to climb the 8 peaks over two days, getting there on a Friday night and finishing up on Sunday. Like mostly everything I do, it needed to be packed into a single weekend, and …
White Water Rafting: My Dad’s Bucket List
Two years ago, I was at a family party where we were playing a game. The premise was that everyone had to write something down on a piece of paper, mix it up in a hat, and one person had to guess who it belonged to. One of the topics during the game was that you had to write down one of your bucket list items. One by one, we went around the room revealing which bucket list item was ours, and that was the moment I found out about my dad’s desire to go white water rafting. I was …
Feiyu Tech 3-Axis Wearable Gimbal Stabilizer | Mountain Bike Review & Unboxing
After getting a few rides in with this Gimbal, I sat down to review the pros & cons of the Feiyu Tech FY-WG 3-Axis Wearable Gimbal Stabilizer for Gopro HERO 4, 3+ and 3. It is an absolutely incredible & necessary piece of filming equipment for those looking to get solid footy from their rides out on the trails and beyond. First off, the gimbal does exactly what is expected of it. It keeps all the footy buttery smooth no matter if you are turning hard into berms, flying off jumps, crushing rock gardens, or what ever the trail could …
Oktoberfest: Things To Know Before You Go
Learn most of the lyrics to these two songs: Fleigerlied and West Virginia by John Denver. The first one is a classic Oktoberfest song that ever tent is guaranteed to play at least once. Fliegerlied is a hilarious song if you look up the translation in english. And the second one, well that’s anyone guess as to why that some how became popular in Germany, let alone during Oktoberfest. But sure enough, you’ll notice the music change from traditional German Folk to the roar of everyone screaming “Take me home…”. Know where the festival grounds are located. For some reason, we …
