Story of Fear & Love: The Top Notch Triathlon

At a glance, the Top Notch Triathlon looks like any other normal sprint; but in reality, it is a grueling challenge that requires each of its competitors to dig deep in order to reach it’s finish line. A race that requires you to climb over 3,000 feet of vert and leaving you on the summit of Cannon Mountain. This triathlon means so much more to me than just another race or adventure, it is the sole event that exposed me to the mountains. For those of you that know me, you know that I’ve fallen in love with the mountains and anything …

Pearl Lake, NH & Top Notch Triathlon [Video]

From the first time I opened my eyes to the view of Pearl Lake, I was hooked. Each year a group of friends gather here, at Pearl Lake, to compete in the Top Notch Triathlon in Franconia, NH. We normally compete as a team in the triathlon, but this year was my first attempt at the full solo triathlon. It was an incredible experience (that kicked my ass), but that event doesn’t even compare to how memorable the weekend is after we finish that final climb. Pearl Lake is an unforgettable place that I look forward to visiting every single …

Hey there!  I appreciate all the viewers that check out my page, and hope that some of my content helps you or inspires you to get out and have your own adventure. For the next few weeks, there will not be any new updates. My friends and I will be backpacking through Europe on our way to Oktoberfest in Munich! Eventually celebrate Oktoberfest in Munich over the last weekend.  After the partying subsides, we plan to explore the …

Diary of a Backpacker | Catskills | [Video]

Tried my best to capture some of the misadventures that we all experience while on the trail. From getting lost, going in the wrong direction, running out of food & water, struggles with being bear-proof, shitty views, you name it. But it wasn’t all bad, even though it was very humid and hot in NY, the Catskills have amazing mountains to climb and beautiful landscapes to admire. This hike took us on an overnight through the Burroughs Range which is highlighted by Slide Mountain. My friend Eddie and his girlfriend, Courtney, invited me to join them on an overnight during …

Go Cliff Jumping Becket Quarry, Massachussetts [Video]

It’s not summer until you and you friends travel to an out-of-state Quarry for some epic cliff jumping from +60ft cliffs! This adventure took us up to Old Granite Quarry in Becket, MA or otherwise known as Becket Quarry. It’s an incredibly secluded spot that draws people from all over the region. The cliffs range from just a few feet to over 60, boasting depths of 200 feet in some locations. Not only are the cliffs epic, but there’s a rope swing and the water was a warm 70 degrees when we were there. I recommend getting there early before …

The Freezer Hostel Review [Iceland]

This was unlike any other hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Simply put, this place was so unique, that I cannot even begin recommend it enough, but I’ll try. Everything from the guy who ran the hostel (Kári Viðarsson), to the isolated town of Rif, 2.5hr drive from Reykjavik, really puts The Freezer Hostel into a category of its own. Freezer Hostel was the first place we planned to stay during our trip to Iceland, and having no idea anything about the region or the location, except for the fact it was on the coast, we made the journey up from Reykjavik …

Hiking Mount Washington [Video]

My friends and I hiked the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail up Mount Washington, NH. There is no other hike in the Northeast quite like it. The views above the tree line are so expansive and wondrous. The hike itself was quite challenging with over 4,000ft over vert. We started our morning at the Tarry Ho Campground and made our way to the trailhead parking lot. Up and away we went, taking the trail all the way to the beautiful Lake of the Clouds. After a quick stop, we made our push up to the summit where luckily the summit photo-op was …

After-work Adventures: Why Are You Not Going?

It seems these days that activities like hiking, camping, skiing, mountain biking, and outdoor climbing are reserved for those “free” hours between 5PM on Friday to 5PM on Sunday. We pretty much only allot ourselves a 48 hour block to have fun each week, which most of the time gets consumed by menial tasks that usually involve the phrase “work around the house”. It would be taboo to hear on a Thursday morning that your coworker went camping night before and still made it into work by 8AM the following morning, right? Why is that? It seems like we constantly …
