Vanlife Trip In Oregon

Like many of us, who have scrolled endlessly through social media seeing those incredible sprinter van builds, perched high over some scenic overlook, we too shared that jealous. Which is why, we’ve twice now rented camper vans from Outdoorsy.com. The first time, we rented a van for a trip to San Diego in November. But now with Covid canceling all our plans for spring and summer trips, we had to switch up our destination and decided to stay local and explore Oregon via a road trip! To make it even more exciting, we rented a built-out Ram ProMaster Van to …

Joys of Early Season Mountain Biking and Trail Running

It’s the spring, which normally means slightly warmer temperatures and a whole lot of time skiing the amazing Utah corn snow. Unfortunately with all of this Covid-19 craziness, those activities have been held off. So instead of skis, most of us here in Park City have transitioned to wheels and runs as the south facing hillsides are drying out. With new activities, come new challenges to get into shape for. And how horribly out of shape I realize I am. Zachary KenneyHi there, my name is Zachary Kenney and I’m an adventure filmmaker & photographer.  My passion is to tell …

Slickrock Mountain Bike Trail | Moab, UT

Some classic mountain bike trails fall short of the hype, but when it came to the Slickrock trail in Moab, UT, it far exceeded the expectations. Ever since I heard about this trail, it’s been on my bucket list. For some reason though, every time I go riding in the desert, we end up on another epic trail. And let me tell you, it was an epic ride!  The trailhead is located 3 miles West of town, in the Sand Flats Recreation …

Meaningful Mountain Biking Story | Why are they so difficult to tell?

Why does it seem so difficult to tell a meaningful mountain biking story? For the past 4 years I’ve been seriously riding mountain bikes. And for the past 4 years, I’ve been hooked on watching mountain biking films and edits. But at the end of the day, and no matter how much backstory goes into a film, it’s focal point is always bike porn. By that, I mean endless cut sequences of riders slaying trails as fast as possible and with as much style as they can. Zero depth. As I’m writing this story, I’m watching Red Bull Media House’s new …

Mountain Biking Fruita, Colorado with Gregor the Trail Dog

When it comes to mountain biking, there’s simply no bad days. Whether it’s a cruiser lap on the local trails, or an all out sufferfest that takes all day. Mountain biking is amazing. Yet, there are some rides that I’ll never forget. And a Saturday spent riding in Colorado with my fiancé, Courtney, and our trail dog, Gregor will be one of those best rides of my life. The ride was nothing out of this world, a simple, yet challenging loop at 18 Road trail system north of Fruita, Colorado. We rode from our campsite, up to the forest road …

Mid Mountain Trail | Park City Mountain Biking [Gallery]

From one side of Park City, to the other. Running South to North, from Deer Valley to Canyons. One trail, that covers well over 15miles of ski area terrain, and is now my new favorite trail in Park City. And even though I’ve ridden sections of this trail before, I’ve never linked the whole Mid Mountain Trail together. That is, until yesterday. My buddy Bill and I used the Purple Line bus to shuttle ourselves up to the Montage at Deer Valley where we could hop on the Mid Mountain Trail. Sure, we could have left a car the side …

Mountain Biking | Helena, Montana

There were a few things that I definitely wanted to do on our road trip to Banff National Park in Alberta, CAN. One was rock climb somewhere new, and the other was to break out the mountain bikes as often as possible on the way. It didn’t take long to get our tires onto some dirt. On day two of the trip, after leaving West Yellowstone heading north through Big Sky, MT, we made a stop in Montana’s Capitol of Helena.  Our stop, in this city with tons of mountain biking trails accessible right from town, was no coincidence. We …

Go Mountain Biking… at Night!

10 feet in front of you… that is all that you can see of the trail you’re riding on. Other than the stars and the moon, everything else is pitch black. Flowing over the rock gardens, with scrub oak flying passed you, makes it feel like you’re out on a PR paced ride. Even the Coyotes were out having a blast, howling in the night. Was it scary? Yes. Was it nerve-racking? Yes. Will I be doing it again? Hell Yes! Last week, my buddy Bill and I made plans to go out for a night ride at some point …
