Day 3 | White Mountains Bike Tour Loading all your gear onto your bike, via headlamp at 4:00AM, isn’t exactly what I’d call a “good morning”. But we had fallen asleep so early the night before (probably due to the beers), that it was only logical to start riding as soon as we awoke. Day 2 | White Mountains Bike Tour Waking up without an alarm is always the best part about camping. Unfortunately, I forgot that  I wasn’t on a camping trip and that I still had almost 90 miles left to ride on the bike tour. Day 1 | White Mountains Bike Tour We started the morning off by rolling out of our hammocks we slept in the night before, headed back down the trail to the Franconia Notch Trailhead Parking lot where we would get our bikes ready for the tour. I made Eddie and I both a couple of bland breakfast burritos to eat. We stuffed all our belongings into the saddle bags and strapped everything to our bikes. At a glance, the Top Notch Triathlon looks like any other normal sprint; but in reality, it is a grueling challenge that requires each of its competitors to dig deep in order to reach it’s finish line. From the first time I opened my eyes to the view of Pearl Lake, I was hooked. Each year a group of friends gather here, at Pearl Lake, to compete in the Top Notch Triathlon in Franconia, NH. We normally compete as a team in the triathlon, but this year was my first attempt at the full solo triathlon. Hiking Mount Washington [Video]

My friends and I hiked the Ammonoosuc Ravine Trail up Mount Washington, NH. There is no other hike in the Northeast quite like it. The views above the tree line are so expansive and wondrous. The hike itself was quite challenging with over 4,000ft over vert. We started our morning at the Tarry Ho Campground and made our way to the trailhead parking lot. Up and away we went, taking the trail all the way to the beautiful Lake of the Clouds. After a quick stop, we made our push up to the summit where luckily the summit photo-op was …

Hiking the Franconia Ridge

44°09′39″N 71°38′40″W One of the most rigorous, yet beautiful, hikes in the Northeast, and absolutely worth it for the views. Located in the beautiful town of Franconia, NH, Mount Lafayette was easily accessible from Route 93 which runs through the Franconia notch between Franconia Ridge and Cannon Mountain. After a late start to the morning, we finally made it to the parking lot around 11:30AM. We knew that this was going to take 6-7 hours, which meant daylight was going to be scarce by the time we reached the bottom. Our plan was to knock off Lafayette, Lincoln, and Little Haystack …
